More updates

Evelyn seems to be improving slowly but surely. She is off the flourescent lights now and off her IV as well. The night nurse tonight is going to see if she can maintain her body temperature without the heater, and, if that goes well, she'll be off the heater as well--then the only thing keeping us in the hospital will be her feeding. She seems to be doing reasonably well with the feeding--they weighed her before her feeding for the first time tonight, and then weighed her again afterwards. She only got about half of what she needs to be getting, but the nurse said that was pretty good for someone in Evelyn's position. Besides, she'd nursed quite a long time at the previous feeding, and sometimes preemies get exhausted by that and don't nurse as well the next time around. At any rate, they should be weighing her with each feeding tomorrow, so we'll have a better idea of exactly how well she's doing.

I'm so happy to hear that she is doing so well! Hopefully she'll come home sooner than expected!
